2026-01-01His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Region, met today in his office with a number of residents of the Al-Mahdiyah neighborhood in Riyadh, who presented development proposals for their neighborhood based on diverse experiences, within the framework of community participation.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Royal Highness welcomed the residents of the neighborhood, expressing his pleasure with the proposals they put forward, which aim to develop the area and reflect their clear interest, awareness, and commitment to advancing their neighborhood by identifying challenges and proposing solutions based on scientific knowledge and diverse expertise. This, he noted, enhances integration between the Municipality and the community.
His Royal Highness pointed out that the city of Riyadh is currently experiencing an exceptional phase marked by major projects, which requires concerted efforts from all stakeholders to shape the city’s future through various community initiatives and programs. He also emphasized his strong commitment to the role of community participation, explaining that what the Municipality is currently implementing in this regard is a tangible reality being lived today, far removed from mere slogans.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness listened to representatives of the Al-Mahdiyah neighborhood, namely: Dr. Saeed bin Salem Al-Asmari, Assistant Director General of the National Center for the Promotion of Mental Health and Chairman of the Board of the Al-Mahdiyah Community Development Association , Dr. Mohammed Hathout Al-Suwidan, a faculty member at King Saud University and a journalist , Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Al-Mahdiyah Community Development Association , Dr. Abdulaziz bin Fawaz Al-Othman, an officer at the Ministry of Interior and a cooperating lecturer at King Fahd Security College , and Mr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Khuraiji, a member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Mahdiyah Neighborhood Development Association.
This meeting comes as part of the “Coffee with the Mayor” initiative, through which His Royal Highness is keen to meet with outstanding institutions and individuals, as well as owners of initiatives and innovations, in order to support and motivate them to exert further efforts that contribute to the development and growth of the capital.
