2025-12-25Under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Municipality, and in cooperation with the National Center for Privatization, Riyadh Municipality signed two privatization agreements with Riyadh Holding Company for the operation, maintenance, and management of King Abdullah Gardens. The agreements come as part of operational readiness efforts as the project nears completion, aiming to enhance facility preparedness, ensure efficient management, and improve visitor experience.
Riyadh Municipality was represented at the signing by the Municipality’s Deputy for Projects, Eng. Alwaleed bin Abdulrahman Al-Akrash, while Riyadh Holding Company was represented by its CEO, Eng. Asim bin Mohammed Al-Suhaibani. The move marks an organizational step toward transitioning the project into full operational phase as construction works approach completion.
Under the agreements, Riyadh Holding Company will assume comprehensive responsibilities for the management, operation, and maintenance of King Abdullah Gardens. This includes operating technical systems related to climate control, energy centers, water treatment and irrigation stations, in addition to routine and specialized maintenance of vegetation ensuring facility readiness and optimizing operational efficiency in accordance with approved municipal and environmental standards.
These agreements are part of the preparations to launch one of Riyadh’s major urban projects, requiring high operational readiness and sustainable management to elevate service levels for visitors and maximize the value of public assets.
The step aligns with Riyadh Municipality’s efforts to prepare landmark projects for the operational phase using best-in-class privatization models, enhance urban development, and improve quality of lifeconsistent with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, and reflecting the Municipality’s mission to advance Riyadh through high-quality services and effective partnerships toward a prosperous and sustainable city.
