Riyadh Municipality has achieved a new Guinness World Record by registering the highest number of volunteers on an accredited volunteering platform within a single week in the city of Riyadh, on December 8, 2025. The number of registered volunteers reached 14,642, marking an accomplishment that reflects the growing culture of volunteerism in the capital and the community’s role in supporting environmental and developmental initiatives.

Mr. Abdulwahab bin Fardan, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Participation, received the official Guinness certificate from the organization’s representatives during a ceremony held in Riyadh to celebrate this global achievement. This milestone builds on the continuous support provided by His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh, to strengthen community engagement, promote volunteerism, and expand its impact across the city.

 “Riyadh Volunteers” initiative has so far witnessed broad participation exceeding 30,000 male and female volunteers in various field activities across multiple tracks, including tree planting, cleanliness campaigns, monitoring and treatment efforts, food preservation, and clothing recycling—contributing to enhancing the urban environment, supporting sustainability efforts, and improving quality of life in the city.

The event also saw participation from numerous government entities across the education, health, environment, transport, and sports sectors, in addition to security and military agencies, private sector organizations, municipal partners, the nonprofit sector, media entities, and sports and fitness clubs—reflecting the strength of institutional partnerships and their role in promoting a culture of volunteerism.

This world record stands as evidence of the success of the “Riyadh Volunteers” initiative in enabling Riyadh residents to actively contribute to developing their city through impactful volunteer work. Riyadh Municipality continues to advance its volunteer programs in partnership with various entities, in support of urban development, quality-of-life enhancement, and alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
