Riyadh Municipality has received the National Geospatial Governance Excellence Award for Government Entities 2025, presented by the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information to leading organizations adopting the National Geospatial Governance Framework.

The award recognizes the Municipality’s outstanding performance in implementing national geospatial governance across all aspects of its geospatial data—ensuring unified geospatial standards and specifications, an approved classification for geospatial datasets, clear roles and responsibilities for all working groups, application of data protection standards, enhanced geospatial integration, and the establishment of periodic indicators to measure geospatial maturity levels.

These practices have elevated the Municipality’s geospatial maturity and maximized the value of its data, strengthening its role in supporting data-driven decision-making based on accurate and reliable information.
