2025-09-01Riyadh Municipality has signed a cooperation agreement with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), aimed at strengthening institutional partnership between the two entities and integrating efforts in the areas of compliance, enforcement, and invoicing, thereby improving performance efficiency and enhancing the quality of municipal services.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Riyadh Municipality by Acting Undersecretary for Compliance and Environmental Sustainability, Eng. Turki bin Abdulaziz Al-Turki, and on behalf of ZATCA by Deputy Governor for Operations, Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Sadhan, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.
The agreement outlines enhanced cooperation in exchanging resources and expertise in areas of mutual interest, as well as strengthening governance of procedures to support compliance activities and develop enforcement mechanisms. It also includes provisions for participation in workshops and training programs organized by both parties to ensure mutual benefit and greater integration in shared areas of work.
Through this agreement, Riyadh Municipality will be able to improve compliance efficiency, enhance the quality of municipal services, and develop its regulatory practices by building a knowledge base informed by ZATCA’s advanced expertise in enforcement and electronic invoicing. The agreement also provides opportunities for practical knowledge exchange and participation in joint programs and specialized workshops, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations while maximizing the use of available resources.
The agreement reflects Riyadh Municipality’s efforts to build strategic partnerships with various entities to promote sustainable urban development and elevate the quality of services provided to residents, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
