His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Region, met today in his office with a number of Saudi engineers representing distinguished engineering firms that have contributed high-quality architectural designs for projects across the city of Riyadh.
This meeting comes as part of the “Coffee with the Mayor” initiative, through which His Highness aims to regularly meet with outstanding individuals, organizations, and innovators to support and motivate them to continue contributing to the development and progress of the capital city.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Mayor welcomed the representatives of the engineering offices in Riyadh, expressing his appreciation for the exceptional projects being carried out by these firms. He praised the aesthetically appealing buildings with distinctive architectural character and thanked the representatives for their positive engagement with the city's goals. His Highness noted that the results of this outstanding work will become increasingly visible in the coming years through urban outputs that follow a clear architectural vision and will have a significant impact on the residents of Riyadh.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal emphasized the great interest and keenness of the Kingdom’s leadership  may Allah protect them  in preserving Saudi architecture as a whole and maintaining the architectural identity of our cities. He praised the important role these firms play in shaping the adopted design guidelines and in creating architectural models that express Riyadh’s identity in a meaningful way. He affirmed that Riyadh has unique characteristics and identity that present promising opportunities for innovative architectural projects, and that the municipality  within its scope of responsibilities provides support and guidance for high-value, distinguished projects.
His Highness also listened to the representatives of the engineering offices as they shared their suggestions, opinions, and the challenges they face. They discussed how to overcome these challenges through cooperation, integration, and partnership between the Riyadh Municipality and the engineering firms in order to achieve the city’s development objectives.
In turn, the representatives expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Mayor for his ongoing commitment to holding such meetings. They emphasized that these engagements foster closeness and continuous collaboration between the municipality and engineering firms, and reflect His Highness’s dedication to resolving any obstacles that may hinder project implementation. They also reaffirmed the strong partnership between the municipality and the engineering firms in implementing Riyadh’s architectural identity and establishing a visual identity worthy of the capital.
