Riyadh – The Riyadh Municipality, through its Accident Monitoring Center, has carried out a series of on-site traffic interventions across 17 locations within the jurisdiction of Al-Shifa Sub-Municipality, based on an in-depth analysis of road accident data. These measures aim to address critical traffic points, ease vehicular flow, and bolster safety in areas with high traffic density.
The interventions included the enhancement of sidewalks, traffic reorganization, and the installation of traffic-calming measures. Specifically, 12,732 linear meters of curbstones were installed, 83 traffic signs were erected, 6 traffic-calming devices were introduced, and 18,719 square meters of sidewalks were paved with interlocking tiles.
These improvements have significantly reduced the risk of accidents and facilitated smoother movement for both residents and vehicles.
The initiative stems from the heat map of critical locations within municipal boundaries, developed through meticulous data analysis to identify and proactively address priority areas, thus raising the efficiency of traffic safety measures across the city’s road network.
Riyadh Municipality continues its mission to create a safer and more livable urban environment by enhancing infrastructure and elevating quality of life, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Municipality’s commitment to building a vibrant society and sustainable urban development.
