Riyadh Municipality, in collaboration with the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), has announced the opening of registration for the 61st World Planning Council, scheduled to take place in the Saudi capital from December 1 to 4, 2025, under the theme: “Cities and Regions in Motion: Planning Pathways to Resilience and Quality of Life.”

The council coincides with ISOCARP’s Diamond Jubilee, celebrating six decades of professional contributions to sustainable urban planning. It will be held amid the rapid urban transformation that Riyadh is currently witnessing, reinforcing its status as a dynamic platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise among professionals from around the world.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with ministers, mayors, and international experts during high-level plenary sessions, in addition to interactive sessions and workshops that will address key topics including climate resilience, digital transformation, inclusive governance, urban justice, and quality of life.

The program will also feature practical initiatives such as the Young Planning Professionals program, masterclasses, technical tours, and high-level policy meetings bringing together city leaders and international organizations to shape the future of cities.
