His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Kharj, received today, Tuesday 30/06/1446 AH, His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayaaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Region, during the Mayor’s visit to the southern sector governorates.

At the beginning of the meeting, developmental and municipal issues related to the governorate were discussed, along with ways to enhance and develop service quality.

Later, at the governorate’s headquarters and in the presence of a number of dignitaries, locals, and heads of centers, Their Highnesses witnessed the inauguration and signing of 7 agreements for vital projects in the governorate, with a total value exceeding 124 million SAR. These projects aim to improve infrastructure, develop services, and rehabilitate and maintain roads over lengths exceeding 35 km. They also include the study and design of main roads totaling over 22 km, as well as projects to mitigate flood risks, drain rainwater, and treat water accumulation in neighborhoods covering areas exceeding 300,000 square meters.

Their Highnesses also witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Riyadh Municipality and Riyadh Holding Company to implement several projects in Al-Kharj aimed at improving quality of life, enhancing the efficiency of parks, pathways, and vital sites, and improving the visual and urban landscape of the governorate.

The Governor highlighted the directives of the Region’s Emir and Deputy Emir and their continuous follow-up to develop and enhance the services provided in the governorate, appreciating the Mayor of Riyadh’s visit, his attention to the governorate’s needs, and his support for its projects.

For his part, the Mayor of Riyadh emphasized that Al-Kharj is one of the most important governorates in the Riyadh Region and the Kingdom, playing a pivotal role in national agricultural, industrial, and developmental strategies. He noted that the governorate is witnessing significant activity across all sectors and plays an important role in the development process. He affirmed the municipality’s keenness to support projects that contribute to improving quality of life and developing infrastructure in the governorate.

He added that his visit reflects the directives of the wise leadership — may God protect them — and pointed out that the launch of the new project contracts is qualitative and comprehensive developmental work aimed at raising the quality of life and enhancing citizens’ welfare by improving infrastructure and developing basic services in line with the aspirations of the governorate’s residents.
