Riyadh Municipality, represented by its Central Riyadh Sector, concluded the municipal plaza activities organized through my city offices with a ceremony held at the plaza of my city offices of Al-Mugharrazat. The ceremony was attended by a number of leaders, partners, and sponsors.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a vibrant program of sporting competitions and community activities, featuring six tournaments across six tracks. The events took place at 11 locations in central Riyadh neighborhoods and three halls at my city offices in Al-Mugharrazat, Al-Maathar, and Al-Mansourah. With 884 players participating and 8,528 spectators attending, the municipal plazas became gathering places for residents of all ages.
The ceremony featured a video presentation highlighting the events and community engagement efforts, followed by the recognition of 56 sponsors, partners, and supporting entities for their contributions to the program’s success and their support for community and sporting activities. Champions were then crowned in the neighborhood teams’ football league, volunteer teams’ football league, volleyball, basketball, Baloot, and dominoes.
The winners received four trophies and more than 200 prizes. Over 432 volunteers contributed to the success of the events, recording 10,500 volunteer hours reflecting a strong culture of volunteering and coordinated efforts between the Municipality and all segments of the community.
These efforts form part of Riyadh Municipality’s work to activate public plazas and facilities and, through my city offices, turn them into accessible community destinations close to residents. The initiatives contribute to improving quality of life and reinforcing the concept of a vibrant community, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
