Riyadh Region Municipality has launched six community sports tournaments, with competitions taking place throughout September across 11 locations within the Municipality’s Central Riyadh Sector. The initiative aims to encourage residents to engage in sports and strengthen community interaction among different age groups.
The tournaments include a neighborhood football league, a football league for volunteer teams, and basketball, volleyball, Baloot, and dominoes competitions.
More than 15 recreational, educational, and health-related activities will accompany the tournaments to enrich the experience offered to residents and broaden community participation. A total of 40 entities from the government, private, and nonprofit sectors, as well as volunteer teams, are participating.
Riyadh Region Municipality continues its efforts to activate public squares and facilities, encourage residents to participate in sports, and provide an attractive community environment that improves quality of life. These efforts also strengthen the role of community facilities as accessible destinations close to residents that meet their diverse needs.
