His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, inaugurated today at Qasr Al-Hukm 25 new parks distributed across various neighborhoods of the capital. This comes as part of the Riyadh Municipality’s efforts to expand green spaces, promote urban development, and enhance the quality of life in Riyadh.

The opening of these parks is part of an integrated program implemented over recent years. The city of Riyadh witnessed the opening of 17 parks in 2022, 45 parks in 2023, and 25 parks in 2024, culminating in the inauguration of 25 new parks in 2025. These efforts support urban development, improve quality of life, and enhance services provided to residents and visitors of the capital.

The new parks cover a total area of 274,688 square meters and include green spaces spanning 77,368 square meters. The projects also involved planting 2,489 trees, constructing 33,583 linear meters of pedestrian walkways, and 7,431 linear meters of bicycle paths, contributing to active mobility within neighborhoods and supporting safe and sustainable transportation options.

Park facilities include 17 multi-purpose sports fields, 27 restrooms, 1,165 lighting poles, and 913 parking spaces. In addition, children’s play areas covering 12,078 square meters and 666 seating units distributed throughout the parks have been provided, creating a family-friendly environment that enhances visitors’ experiences and maximizes the use of public facilities.

The design of the parks adheres to universal design standards, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for persons with disabilities and supporting their integration into community activities. Safety considerations were also taken into account, along with organized spatial planning to ensure optimal use of the sites and to serve all age groups.

The locations of the new parks are geographically distributed across Riyadh to ensure proximity to residents, strengthen social connectivity within residential neighborhoods, and increase satisfaction with public services.
