His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, participated today in the largest gathering of male and female volunteers as part of the “Riyadh Volunteers” initiative, hosted at Al-Nakheel Park in Riyadh.

His Highness joined the volunteers in planting seedlings throughout the park an effort that supports afforestation initiatives and enhances the urban environment, in alignment with the municipality’s role in increasing community engagement in developing the city and empowering residents to contribute to environmental initiatives.

Through the “Riyadh Volunteers” initiative, the municipality provided support to participants by preparing a designated area for planting seedlings, contributing to the expansion of green cover and strengthening a culture of environmental volunteering. These activities form part of the initiative’s broader work streams, which include: planting, cleanliness, monitoring and treatment, food preservation, and clothing recycling within an organized volunteer framework aimed at improving the urban environment and enhancing quality of life.

The gathering witnessed the participation of senior officials from the municipality alongside volunteers, in an event focused on hands-on fieldwork and documenting community involvement in growing green spaces and raising environmental awareness.

The initiative attracts wide participation from government entities across the education, health, environment, transport, and sports sectors, in addition to security and military agencies, the private sector and municipal partners, the nonprofit sector, media organizations, sports and fitness clubs, and both public and private leaders strengthening the spirit of civic engagement in developing the city.

The initiative also aims to broaden the base of volunteer participation within Riyadh and provide practical opportunities that enhance awareness of the importance of community contribution to urban development programs.

“Riyadh Volunteers” stands out as an inclusive platform that enables volunteers to work within field tracks aligned with the municipality’s priorities in enhancing the urban environment, developing neighborhoods, and empowering individuals to contribute directly to improving the city through purposeful activities that elevate quality of life and support sustainability goals.
