Mayor of Riyadh inaugurates training course for tunnels and underground installations
Yesterday Sunday morning, and in the presence of more than 200 specialized engineers in the field of tunneling engineering and industry, His Excellency the Mayor of Riyadh Region, Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Moqbel inaugurated the activities of training course organized by Foundation for Education and Training on Tunneling and Underground Space Use (ITACET) under the sponsorship of the Mayor of the Riyadh region, which will take place over 3 days under the title of "The Latest Developments in Tunneling" in Twaiq Palace in Sefarat district in Riyadh, during the period from 23 -25 /01/1436 AH.

Region Eng. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al Moqbel cleared that the course program
provides the opportunity for contracting companies , consultancy offices and
the architects of the private and public sectors from the competent authorities
to review the latest developments , techniques and modern equipment in
tunneling drilling and operation, noting that the program focuses on the
rehabilitation and maintenance of running tunnels, and making use what is
provided by expert participants from ITACET Foundation and specialized global
His Excellency praised the development of Saudi Arabia in the field of tunnels implementation and maintenance, especially Mecca projects, through which the state seeks to continuous development in the holy sites. Al Moqbel praised the participation of the Holy City Municipality in providing a scientific paper on the tunnels projects in Mecca.
For his part, Eng. Khalaf Bin Zaar Al Delbhi, Director General of Studies and Designs in Riyadh Municipality explained that it will be discussing several issues during the training course , including planning, design, implementation and maintenance of the tunnels, and discussing issues and solutions of the reality of scientific and practical experience of experts, and expanding the use of tunnels globally, especially after the development of tunneling techniques, as well as the feasibility of implementing the tunnels in economic and practical terms for roads and public transport projects and infrastructure services, and briefing on distinctive tunnels projects on the global and local levels with a focus on Mecca regions tunnels.
